TEAM LAYLA

Beautiful and witty Layla tries to make sure the people around her are happy and laughing. She's 12 years old and likes to cook, go to the movies, dance, listen to music, and play video games with family and friends. She dreams big dreams and aspires to appear on MasterChef someday.

Katie Kendall, a native of Flagstaff, Arizona, captains team Layla. An athlete her entire life, she grew up competing in many sports from gymnastics to soccer. Now a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, she enjoys running, yoga, cooking and spending time with her son and family. Always eager to find a way to share her love for fitness and sport, Katie jumped at the chance to be a team captain with Duo.

ONE HUMAN RACE
TWO AT A TIME

We believe there's more to running than pace, splits, and medals. Training for and participating in running events opens the door to companionship, friendship, and community, enriching the lives of runners in ways beyond the physical benefits. However, some of us face challenges that prevent us from experiencing the joy (and sorrow) of training and the excitement of race day. We'd like to help change that.

Duo Run Club is building a community of people pursuing a richer life by experiencing the sport of running together. At our core are individual run teams consisting of a runner and a rider who is unable to run on their own for a variety of reasons. Our hope is that both runner and rider experience a deeper sense of our common humanity.

We’re backed by True Sport, a Tempe, AZ based nonprofit.
