TEAM ASHLEY

Ashley is 18 years old. She likes to dance, watch movies, eat ice cream, and laugh with friends. Her laughter is contagious. She became part of Duo when David's mom invited her to join. It was an instant match when she met her wonderful running partner Meghan!

Meghan Ridgely, a co-founder of Duo, captains team Ashley. A lifelong athsmatic unable to safely run, Meghan started running in 2008 when her doctor prescribed her a brand new medication that promised to change her life. It did! She immediately started running. Today she has completed more than 30 half marathons, 7 marathons and numerous triathlons including Ironman Arizona. Her favorite part of running is the time it gives her to think. She says, "It's like free therapy. I always feel better after I run." She started Duo because she wanted to share her love of running with others. Meghan says that running with a partner changed running from "a selfish pursuit to something I could share."

ONE HUMAN RACE
TWO AT A TIME

We believe there's more to running than pace, splits, and medals. Training for and participating in running events opens the door to companionship, friendship, and community, enriching the lives of runners in ways beyond the physical benefits. However, some of us face challenges that prevent us from experiencing the joy (and sorrow) of training and the excitement of race day. We'd like to help change that.

Duo Run Club is building a community of people pursuing a richer life by experiencing the sport of running together. At our core are individual run teams consisting of a runner and a rider who is unable to run on their own for a variety of reasons. Our hope is that both runner and rider experience a deeper sense of our common humanity.

We’re backed by True Sport, a Tempe, AZ based nonprofit.
